In China, the size matters: British segment of closing ceremonies get re-write Olympic organizers were fearful that Led Zeppelin's classic song "Whole Lotta Love" would offend some, so they changed the words.. The line, "I'm gonna give you every inch of my love" to "every bit" of my love.. The London TELEGRAPH reports more.. Other lyrics from the song: "Way down inside honey, you need it" "Shake for me, girl" "I wanna be your backdoor man" London 2012. Less inches.. less love.

When the Olympic village is rockin don't come a knockin

As the Olympics wind down, the heat of Beijing, China, due to get even hotter tonight.. Countless media sources have detailed over the past week the amount of sexual encounters that athletes at the Olympics have historically had.. Beijing with all of its cameras and government meddling will be no different: Athletes of different backgrounds will do what unites all of humanity.. Athletes have received free condoms at the Olympic games since Barcelona in 1992.. Also this week, the TIMES ONLINE detailed out the amount of sex that occurs within the Olympic village.. Writing in the TIIMES, former British table tennis star and Olympic athlete, Matthew Syed, said,
"Barcelona was, for many of us Olympic virgins, as much about sex as it was about sport. There were the gorgeous hostesses - there to assist the athletes - in their bright yellow shirts and black skirts; there were the indigenous lovelies who came to watch the competitions. And then there were the female athletes - literally thousands of them - strutting, shimmying, sashaying and jogging around the village, clad in Lycra and exposing yard upon yard of shiny, toned, rippling and unimaginably exotic flesh. Women from all the countries of the world: muscular, virile, athletic and oozing oestrogen. I spent so much time in a state of lust that I could have passed out. Indeed, for all I knew I did pass out - in a place like that how was one to tell the difference between dreamland and reality? It was not just the guys. The women, too, seemed in thrall to their hormones, throwing around daring glances and dynamite smiles like confetti. No meal or coffee break was complete without a breathless conversation with a lithe long jumper from Cuba or an Amazonian badminton player from Sweden, the mutual longing so evident it was almost comical. It was an effort of will to keep everything in check until competition had finished. But, once we were eliminated from our respective competitions, we lunged at each other like suicidal fencers. There may have been a fair amount of gay sex going on, too - but given the notorious homophobia in sport it was rather more covert. "
Syed continued throughout the article citing the events of 1992 as though he were penning a romance novel.. Sopped up with sweat and sex, sticky with love and desire. Syed also wrote that the gold medalists were the most sought out by those seeking lovin' .. Michael Phelps, lock your door. The media ate this story up this week.. But Syed's piece has to be at least partially true. Think of that when you watch those beautiful closing ceremonies tomorrow night.. As you watch those athletes give their winks and nods. Not to you, but to the partner from the exotic land that they may never see again. Knock before entering. Or don't enter at all. Photo: REUTERS/Dylan Martinez (CHINA) xx

WHAT IS WITH THIS COVER?

Michael Phelps, what were you thinking...? Sports Illustrated.. same question. If course, I know the image on the cover is an homage to Mark Spitz.. but maybe there is something about Phelps that just has more of a creepy feel to it. He may, after all, be an alien..

SPANISH BASKETBALL TEAM: PHOTO CONTROVERY

While all the world watched, the Spanish basketball team took a step down racist path at the Olympic games.. Asian rights groups are angry over the photo in which Spanish team members used their fingers to slant their eyes.. The basketball team denies racist intentions, instead arguing that photographers at the photo shoot asked the team to "wink" at Beijing.. The photo appeared in an ad for a Spanish courier company.. The true question is: How did this photo ever see the light of day? How many checkpoints did it go through in which people didn't think the gesture would be a big deal? How many people saw it that didn't believe a racial connotation would be made?

Even more, another photo circulating online shows other members of the Spanish Olympic team slanting their eyes for the camera..

I can't beat the NEW YORK POST.. But Michael Phelps eats a lot

Their headline "Boy Gorge" was too good to beat.. The story fascinated me more than the POST headline though.. Apparently Olympic star Michael Phelps eats about 12,000 calories a day. While not shocking since he exerts himself for hours a day more than the typical American could ever last, what was shocking was some of the menu:
"Phelps lends a new spin to the phrase "Breakfast of Champions" by starting off his day by eating three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise. He follows that up with two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelet, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes. At lunch, Phelps gobbles up a pound of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayo on white bread - capping off the meal by chugging about 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks. And some just think he's an alien. For dinner, Phelps really loads up on the carbs - what he needs to give him plenty of energy for his five-hours-a-day, six-days-a-week regimen - with a pound of pasta and an entire pizza. "
He eats like we all did in high school.. But the difference is he has won 11 more gold medals than all of us..

Predictions: China can overtake America in medal count... We are seeing history tonight unfolding .. Before our eyes. China is now on the world stage. Human rights aside.. all other political and social differences aside, China presented itself as a super power worthy of respect through its long opening ceremony. It treated the world to spectacular light shows.. to military guard at their finest.. to human stories. The young man accompanying the Olympic team was a survivor of the recent earthquake in China.. The Chinese flag flies next to the Olympic flag tonight .. Fluttering in the hot 90 degree winds..

POLLUTION!? WHAT POLLUTION.. IT'S JUST 'MIST'

China officials are trying to ease fears tonight by telling athletes and journalists in the country for the Olympics that the pollution all over around is only 'mist'..

Even more, one of the International Olympic Committee's most senior figures dismissed the yellow-grey haze that periodically hangs over the city as mist, and blamed the media for overstating pollution problems..

Mist.

The mist.. not the Stephen King mist, I hope..

But at least Stephen King's mist was fiction..

The filth hanging in the air in China is very real.

Also interesting today, China actually fired 'anti-smog pellets' into the sky over Beijing--just as an earthquake hit! The 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit the western Chinese provinces of Sichuan and Gansu today..

Mist is mist.. but an earthquake is an earthquake..

And maybe, just maybe, that mist is actually pollution, regardless of what the 'best face forward' Olympic committee may be saying..
