ATTACK OF THE BODY SCANNERS: GOVERNMENT ATTEMPTS TO DOWNPLAY CHILD PORN FEARS
British government officials are attempting to dispel worries about the new upcoming stash of body scanners set to invade your local airport.. Yesterday, the GUARDIAN reported that the images of the body the ultra-strong scanner would show off more than enough x-ray images of the human body and that airport workers would see fully nude children..
The AFP reporting the response,
"A Department for Transport spokesman said a code of practice was being drawn up for airport staff who will use the scanners.Will Hollywood starlets fly the friendly skies with the general public? Knowing the general populace would thoroughly enjoy images of their nude bodies.. the TSA could become the new paparazzi.. scanning until they salivate at the images.. all stored for grungy backrooms of airports to hang up .. laughing at those with bad images.. homaging those with good. Perhaps the thoughts of TSA workers gathering over nude images is a little harsh, and perhaps won't happen if protections are set up in advance.. but the rush to the future is often paved with shoddy macadam..
"We understand the concerns expressed about privacy in relation to the deployment of body scanners," he said.
"It is vital staff are properly trained and we are developing a code of practice to ensure these concerns are properly taken into account.
"Existing safeguards also mean those operating scanners are separated from the device, so unable to see the person to whom the image relates, and these anonymous images are deleted immediately," he added"
