El Nino typically means less Atlantic hurricanes.. A new study says that we can expepct the unexpected..A study appeared in the journal SCIENCE on July 3 2009 conducted by the Georgia Institute of Technology.. the climatologists declaring that El Nino is changing to El NiƱo Modoki (from the Japanese meaning "similar, but different")..
The study concludes that the new kind of warming is taking place in the Central Pacific rather than the Eastern Pacific..
