Accuweather's weather team writing that this weekend's Fourth of July Holiday will feel more like April than July//

More: After weeks of rain in the Northeast, some are asking if summer is even here after all.. Continued rain and cooler than normal temps are resulting from a jet stream that isn't taking the normal summer position// Some have even speculated that summer 2009 will go down as the 'year without a summer' in some parts of the United States.

Accuweather writes,

"Cool as a cucumber rather than hot as a firecracker" is how AccuWeather.com's Long Range Expert Joe Bastardi describes 4th of July week for the Great Lakes this year. Temperatures in cities like Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo and Pittsburgh are not expected to make it out of the 60s Wednesday!

In an eye-raising comment, Accuweather forecaster Alex Sosnowski says,

"If it were 30 degrees colder, we would have snow squalls rolling through. Instead, we have gusty rain showers and thunderstorms. A waterspout can even form in these conditions over the Great Lakes."

Though relative heat is down now, Accuweather also reports that summer will return in Mid-July // The year without a summer.. maybe revenge of summer just a little later than normal?
