SUPRISE! YOU'VE GOT SNOW; SNOWSTORM BLANKETS NORTHEAST AS WINDS BLOW ALONG COAST

AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND
Some places had upwards of 15 inches of snow in the Poconos of Pennsylvania! The surprise storm began last night when rain starting pouring down on what looked like an eventual Phillies win in the World Series.. During the 6th inning, the Baseball Commissioner announced a rain delay--one that continues tonight.. The tied game is 2-2, and it's expected to resume tomorrow. Though some odd rules make me and lots of others think that the Phillies were robbed last night, it appears an even bigger robbery occurred today: Fall was taken by winter. The winds are howling outside of Schmuckraker home base as I try to concentrate and do Labor Relations homework for school -- power flickered a few times. Though my area didn't get the abhorrent amount of snow that others in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey saw, it's a clear indication that winter is coming. Faster apparently than a lot of folks hoped for. Some unscientific reports provided by my wife today from Sears conclude that everyone waited until today's storm to get snow tires. I didn't get mine yet.. But maybe I'm just hoping to get a new car..? With weather possibly warmer by Friday, the snow on top of your Halloween pumpkins should melt fast..
The wet, heavy snow is piling up fast in parts of the Northeast.. Ahh, and yes. For those folks along the East Coast, especially in my favorite strange island Long Beach Island, winds are expected to be blowing around 45mph with gusts exceeding 60mph.. Get in a lighthouse, sit back.. and watch the pictures as they fly through the air. Perhaps literally...
