The Sunday Morning Sidewalk: random news events from the world at war

The weekly tradition on Schmuckraker, the best and worst of the world on a Sunday morning. The Sunday morning sidewalk .. Main Street America's sidewalk this week facing ever increasing gas prices.. ever increasing worries over their budget. Here's to you! Hopefully this Sunday morning isn't as lonely as it could be.. Important (to me) news rakings from the world: I'm still a bit jealous of people that get to see and preview THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. So I'm here to announce: Warner Bros, invite me to a pre-screening! I even promise to shill for you! No, really. Seriously. Ok, I can't do that. I would give up my credibility and personal fairness doctrine I try to uphold on this site. But damn, I want to see this movie. PARADE magazine this week interviews Christian Bale.. But BATMAN related news isn't great on Georgia: A boy was decapitated Saturday on a BATMAN ride at Six Flags Georgia.. The 17-year-old entered a restricted area. Witnesses say he entered to get a hat that fell off of him when he was on the ride.. Supermodel Ruslana Korshunova dies after falling from Manhattan building .. New York City police say that the 20-year-old model died in an 'apparent suicide'.. We can sleep better now, right? Scientists say not to worry about that little atom smasher! Earlier and more fearful reports suggested it could create a black hole that would swallow Earth. The creator hopes that the atom smasher could discover something--anything!--including possibly invisible matter or extra dimensions. And maybe even create a pesky black hole that could swallow Earth. The Mars lander continues to dig away at Martian soil: Now in 'Wonderland' area of planet.. Big decline: FOX NEWS slipping as CNN and MSNBC continue to get more viewers.. New ad campaign from WWF: Watch our for fishpeople.. And the final piece of news from the ever changing world: New fears that gas prices may eventually hit $7.00 a gallon.. Unlikely? Same could have been said years ago about $4 gas..
