It's going to be a tough year for gas prices, that we already know. But equally tough will be food prices.. As they continue to rise due global economics, America's newest natural disaster in the Mid-West is adding dollars to already high food costs.. Consumers are being told to expect even higher prices within the next few weeks and months.. Buying local may not be easy, either, as competitive market principles will soon be at play.. Not only will corn prices rise due to the continuous flooding, but also prices of corn-fed livestock! Get them fat! We're paying the price for gigantic steaks now. High food prices in post flood America happened before, but this year's onslaught seems much harsher in its effects. America is already paying at pumps to the degree where they have to choose between feeding them family and simply going to work. Constant recalls of food in recent days have caused more anxiety over the state of American food. And now, with high prices getting even higher, boxed food and Ramen Noodles and beer will be as American as apple pie. Of course, beer prices will be effected by corn prices, too..
